ABC Cracker Baby Book
Intro: From the base of recreating a type font out of materials, we could find the inspiration of the unusual material, crushed ‘RITZ’ crackers, which would make an attractive visual font. From the results, the project reminded me of the beginner ABC books young children use to learn the alphabet. As a further exploration, I created the pages and look of the Ritz Alphabet Book.
Research: When researching how one designs and makes a baby alphabet book, I researched all types of early learning material and how they presented the content. In creating the content, I hand-crushed Ritz crackers and laid them out on printed Helvetica font letter forms, capital and lowercase. After completing the full Alphabet, I photographed them and went to work on placing them into book format.

Solution: I went for a high visual contrast that matched the branding of "RITZ" from the softer, light color tone of most books in production. Many books match letters to animals, food, or simply a mix of both. I went for the letters matching food items to correlate with the cracker-formed letters.
